Course: Chemistry 2 Unit
Chemistry is the study of the atomic structure of matter, compounds & chemical reactions.
The Preliminary Course focuses on the important foundations of our technological civilisation, namely, obtaining valuable chemicals from the Earth, Metals, Water and Energy. The HSC Course deals with the production and applications of useful materials such as plastics, batteries, alcohol and radioisotopes. This course also explores the concept of acids and bases and monitoring chemicals and reactions to maximise production and minimise pollution. One elective will be studied in the HSC year.
