English is the only compulsory subject.
English students will be assessed in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
- Listening
- Viewing
- Representing.
ESL, Standard and Advanced English are assessed through school based assessments and external exams.
Fundamentals and English Studies students are assessed through school based assessments only - there are no external exams.
Some rules apply for the different courses, so choose carefully.
ESL Course Entry Requirements:
- Student has used English as the language of instruction for five years or less.
- Student has been educated overseas.
- Student with an interrupted education
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Ilander students from Indigenous communities where standard English is not the language of the local community. ~
