Year 10 Interview Day

Social Media Workshop

Journalist and educator Stephanie Aceglav delivered an interactive workshop where Year 11 students learned how to use social media as a business tool and develop real-world entrepreneurial skills.

Women’s Health Week 🌸

Female students celebrated strength, joy, and empowerment through a range of activities that promoted fitness, confidence, self-care, and a strong sense of community.

Refugee Youth Awards

Five Year 12 students from Bankstown Senior College were recognised for their achievements in leadership, academics, and sport.

SLR Camp

SLR (Sport, Leisure and Recreation) students attended a two-day overnight camp at The Tops Conference Centre, participating in activities that developed leadership, teamwork, and resilience.

BSC school football tournament

Organised by the PDHPE faculty and run by students, the school football tournament gave our school community a chance to play, watch, and celebrate football talent.

Rotary Youth Vocational Awards

BSC students Mohammad Mahrzad (Information & Digital Technology Certificate III), Mahla Rezaee (Business Services), and Wahida Halimi (Retail Services) were recognised for excellence, commitment, and leadership in their studies, training, or work.

Jersey Day 💛

We raised awareness about organ and tissue donation, with students and staff proudly wearing sports jerseys to spark conversations about the importance of saving lives through donation.

Year 12 Chemistry Excursion

Our Year 12 Chemistry students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit the University of Sydney for a hands-on laboratory experience allowing students to extend their practical skills by working with specialised equipment and chemicals.

Year 10 History Incursion

Year 10 students engaged with primary sources from World War One, discussing the items and how they were used by soldiers in during the World War.

Harmony Day 🧡

Harmony Day at Bankstown Senior College celebrated our diverse community of over 35 cultures, promoting belonging, inclusion, and respect through creative activities and cultural performances.

Refugee Week

We celebrated the strength and contributions of refugee students through kite decorating and cooking Bolani, a traditional Afghani flatbread. Students worked together to prepare and share over 100 pieces with the school community.

Public Education Foundation scholarships

A large number of BSC students received Public Education Foundation scholarships, mainly the Friends of Zainab awards for refugee students, recognising their hard work, academic success, and community involvement.

Aviation experience day

Sydney Flight College at Bankstown Aerodrome provided students with hands-on experience on the 737 Flight Simulator, mapping navigation exercises and information about qualification courses available.

Halogen National Young Leaders Day

Our student leaders met The Hon. Chris Minns MP, actress Catherine Laga’aia, Olympian Emma McKeon and the NSW Young Australian of the Year 2024 Nikhil Autar who spoke about resilience, determination, hard work and self-respect.

International Women’s Day 💜

Students explored the strengths and challenges of women worldwide through presentations and discussions, while mindfulness lessons encouraged students to express gratitude to important women in their lives, supporting mental health and wellbeing.
